2000 Series Aluminum Sheets, Plates and Coils

2000 series aluminum alloys typically contain between 2 to 10% of copper, with smaller additions of other elements, including Al-Cu-Mg, Al-Cu-Mg-Fe-Ni, Al-Cu-Mn, etc. They are heat-treatable alloys and can be precipitation hardened to strengths comparable to steel. They are formerly referred to as duralumin and were once the most commonly aerospace alloys. This series alloy features good heat-resistance quality and machinability. The introduction of copper reduces its ductility and corrosion resistance, which makes it to be coated with a layer of pure aluminum.

2000 series aluminum alloy available size range
  • Thickness: 20-200mm
  • Width: 30-2500mm
  • Length: 500-13000mm
Application
  • Knobs
  • Clock parts
  • Fittings
  • Gears
  • Compressor rings
  • Electrodes
  • Structural applications
  • Welding and filler wire
  • Aircraft industry (2014 aluminum alloy)
  • Screw (2011 aluminum alloy)
  • Industries requiring high temperature (2017 aluminum alloy)
Packaging

To pack the aluminum sheet/plate/coil, first of all, put a layer of plastic film with a thickness of no less than 0.08mm in the packing box, then a layer of EPE foam, the third layer of PE kraft paper, and finally put the desiccant.
