DQ140/20YB Hydraulic Power Tongs
Model DQ140/20YB hydraulic power tongs are an open-throat clamping device that is commonly used for make-up and break-out of 2 3/8″-3 1/2″drill pipes, 3 1/2″-4 1/2″tubing and 4 1/2″-5 1/2″casing pipes.
This gripping unit is made up of master tongs and backup tongs that can operate separately and flexibly. Reset handles allow both tongs to return to their starting positions easily and safely.
At the end of master tongs is a rigid support to which an extended front guide rod is attached. Thanks to this prolonged rod, the whole tongs can clamp objects that are 600mm away from the tongs. The pressure at which the hydraulic oil is transferred can be adjusted in order to produce the most suitable torque needed to tighten up various pipes.
Also installed on the master tongs is the door interlock that blocks hydraulic fluid from reaching the motor preventing tong operation anytime the door is open. This function is achieved with the aid of hand-operated directional control valve. It is safe and easy to operate.
Model 20YB hydraulic power tongs can be equipped with the tong-torque gauge. They also provide ports for connecting devices that can measure the number of turns of the gauge. This facilitates the torque control by computers.
