DQ197/40Y Hydraulic Power Tongs
Model DQ197/40Y is a type of open-throat hydraulic tongs used for making up and breaking apart the 2 7/8″-4″drill pipes, 4″-4 1/2″tubing and 4 1/2″-7 3/4″casing pipes. Its tong head uses brake brands to deliver large torques to slow down or stop the rotating tongs. Such brake bands are easy to operate, adjust and replace.
DQ197/40Y power tongs feature a rigid casing that is made from low-alloy manganese steel plates. Various-sized jaw plates, tong dies, and open-throat ring gears are available, which are all made of alloy steel through forging and other heat treating processes. This ensures high enough strength even when the tongs are operating at its maximum torque.
There is a door interlock installed onto the master tongs. This door interlock uses the hand-operated directional control valve to blocks hydraulic flow from reaching the hydraulic motor any time the door is open. It is safe, convenient to operate, and covered by patent number ZL 2008 2 0160143.9.
This clamping device also can be equipped with torque meter. It also provides various ports for connecting devices that can measure the number of turns of the torque meter. This facilitates the torque control by computers.
