DQ197/40Y-TB Hydraulic Power Tongs
Model DQ197/40Y-TB hydraulic power tongs have become commonplace in oilfields, where they are used to assemble or breaking apart the 2 3/8"-4"drill strings，3 1/2"-4 1/2" production tubing, and 4 1/2"-7 3/4" borehole casing.
Features
1. The complete set of hydraulic power tongs features an open-throat design that is comprised of master tongs and hydraulic backup tongs. These tongs can operate separately and freely. They utilize the so-called negative camber roll climbing two-way clamping mechanism to provide a more aggressive grip onto the drill strings, couplers and joints. This simple structure delivers highly reliable performance.
2. Simply hit the reset button, and the backup tongs and master tongs would return to their original starting positions easily and safely.
3. Unique to our open-throat clamping device is the door interlock that uses the hand-operated directional control valve to prevent hydraulic fluid from reaching the hydraulic motor any time the door is open. It is safe, convenient to use, and is covered by the patent number ZL 2008 2 0160143.9.
4. The backup tongs use two hydraulic cylinders to push and pull the two movable tong arms for holding and loosening the objects. Extended front and rear guide rods allow the backup tongs to clamp onto the pipe couplers as well as production tubing.
5. The tong head uses brake bands for providing large torques to slow down or stop the rotating tongs. Such brake bands are easy to use, adjust and replace.
6. Low-alloy manganese steel plates are used to make the outer casing of the hydraulic tongs, resulting in enhanced rigidity. Various-sized jaw plates, tooth dies, and open-throat ring gears are available. They are all made from alloy steel through forging and other heat treating processes. This ensures the power tongs can have high enough strength even when operating at the highest torque.
7. Upon your request, we can equip this gripping unit with torque meter. The tongs also offer various ports for connecting devices that can measure the number of turns of the torque meter. This facilitates the torque control by computers.
