The exhaust flexible pipe, also known as exhaust flex section, is installed in the exhaust pipe between the exhaust manifold and the muffler. It allows an adjustable union to be formed between otherwise inflexible pipes. The significance is to:

The section body is formed by double layers of corrugated metal pipes lined with an interlock liner. The flange is a plus of this series of exhaust flexible pipes.
