Side Channel Blower
The side channel blower, also known as the ring compressor, is a type of regenerative blower. Exquisite as it is, the blower has a maximum capacity of 2480m3/h, while the maximum differential pressure can reach 780mbar. The side channel blower has perfect performance of aeration, and thus has been widely used in water treatment and aquaculture industries.
Working Principle
The impeller is mounted directly on the motor shaft for entirely non-contact compression without friction. Even at high differential pressures, the optimal operational reliability is ensured by the arrangement of the bearings outside the compression chamber.
The gas is taken in through the inlet. As it enters the side channel, the rotating impeller imparts velocity to the gas in the direction of rotation. At the same time, centrifugal force in the impeller blades accelerates the gas outward and the pressure increases. Every rotation adds kinetic energy, resulting in the further increase of the pressure along the side channel. The side channel narrows at the rotor, sweeping the gas off the impeller blades and discharging it through the outlet silencer.
