1. General Description
Chinese name: Sodium Formate
English name: sodium formate
Other name(s): salachlor; formic acid sodium salt
Molecular formula: HCOONa
Molecular weight (MW): 68.1
CAS No.: 141-53-7
EINECS No.: 205-488-0

The sodium formate is a white powder, with melting point of 253 ℃ and relative density of 1.919. It is soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in ether. The sodium formate decomposes into sodium oxalate and hydrogen at a high temperature, and finally turns into sodium carbonate. It smells slightly like formic acid, with water absorbency.

2. Our Advantages
Our sodium formate features high purity and stable quality.

3. Properties

4. Packaging
The sodium formate can be packaged in the following ways:
a) 25Kg / polywoven bag
b) 50Kg / polywoven bag

5. Usage
The sodium formate can be used for the following purposes:
a) as a high performance drilling fluid, completion fluid, workover fluid widely used in oil industry;
b) in the leather industry, used as camouflage acid for chrome tanning method;
c) for the synthesis of catalyst and stabilizing agent;
d) as reducing agent in printing and dyeing industry;
e) for the production of sodium hydrosulfite;
f) for the production of formic acid and oxalic acid intermediates;
g) for the production of dimethyl formamide.

6. Storage and Handling
The storage is normally safe. Thesodium formate easily absorbs moisture and easily deliquesces, so the storageand transportation process should be moisture proof. But the caking does not change the nature of the product, and the caked sodium formate still works normally after being crushed.
