The double diaphragm feature of DPMF series metering pump does provide extra protection against leakage. This makes it an excellent choice for hazardous, toxic, or corrosive chemicals. The double diaphragm metering pump’s direct attachment of the piston to the diaphragm is effective, but places limitations on the discharge pressure rating as the maximum pressure at the discharge end should be no more than 1.0MPa. The use of this mechanically actuated diaphragm metering pump is strictly limited to applications that do not require high metering accuracy.

One major benefit of DPMF series double diaphragm pump is that it contains very few moving parts, making it easy to maintain and repair. This metering pump finds extensive uses in pharmaceuticals, wastewater treatment, urban water supply, and cement grinding industries.

Features of Mechanical Diaphragm Metering Pump
1. Two separate diaphragms are made of PTFE for outstanding corrosion resistance, and process liquid does not penetrate through the diaphragm.
2. Diaphragm rupture detection system gives off a signal when the diaphragm ruptures, all the while keeping the diaphragm up and running until a diaphragm replacement is possible or stopping the pump immediately if the diaphragm has been severely damaged. The whole detection process protects process fluid from any contamination.
3. Precision designed eccentric mechanism consists of a cam, spring-loaded eccentric arm, and other key parts necessary to adjust the stroke length of the piston moving inside the mechanical diaphragm metering pump.
4. The piston is directly attached to the diaphragm instead of having hydraulic liquid between them. The pumping motion of the piston directly causes the diaphragm to flex back and forth. This simple mechanically actuated diaphragm design allows for easy repair.

Working Principle of Mechanical Diaphragm Metering Pump
The motor drives the worm gear set. Via an eccentric mechanism, the rotary motion of the gear is converted into the reciprocating motion of the piston. As the piston reciprocates, the connected diaphragms flex back and forth causing suction from the supply tank and pumping the fluid through the conveyance infrastructure.
