China is set to enact stricter ammonia-nitrogen emission standards as more people are concerned by the worsening water pollution. Pollution caused by ammoniacal nitrogen threatens to choke business growth across industries. Ammonia and nitrogen removal solutions in wastewater treatment has become a subject of serious concern for enterprises and those in charge of protecting China’s environment.

Recycle Ammonia-Nitrogen to Make Aqueous Ammonia
Depamu has joined forces with China’s prestigious Zhejiang University to co-design an energy-efficient air stripping system for ammonia removal. The result of this air stripping process is no less than amazing as treated water has been tested to be premium grade. Below, we list some important data related to the finished water:
Ammonia-nitrogen value: less than 15ppm
Steam consumption: less than 100kg (per ton of wastewater)
Concentration of recycled ammonia: 0~21%

Also noteworthy is that this new air stripping system allows suspended solids to be recycled, which cannot possibly be done with traditional air stripping towers.

Recycle Ammonia-Nitrogen to Make Ammonium Sulfate
Another successful project where we’ve worked with Zhejiang University is the air stripping system that recycles ammonia-nitrogen and turns it into ammonium sulfate. Listed below are important data as regards water after the air stripping process:

Ammonia-nitrogen value: less than 15ppm
Steam consumption: less than 50kg per ton of wastewater. Just as any other air stripping systems we’ve made, this project is also built with patented technology to allow the recycling of solids suspended in water.
