The dry barrel fire hydrant is connected to fire mains in order to provide water for fire engines, and it can also be connected to a fire hose or deluge gun to directly extinguish a fire. It is an indispensable part of a fire protection system, and is often installed around urban buildings, manufacturing plants, petrochemical engineering enterprises, airports and roads.

    Major Components
The outdoor fire hydrant is comprised of the barrel, main valve, operational stem, valve disc, 90° bend, pipe joint, connection flange, breakaway flange and other parts.

    Working Principle
Our dry barrel's main valve is opened and closed by rotating the operational stem to drive the valve disc up and down. When the hydrant wrench is turned counterclockwise, the valve disc opens and permits water to flow from the water main to the barrel and finally connects to the corresponding firefighting tool to extinguish the fire, and drain holes shut off during this process. When the hydrant wrench is turned clockwise, the main valve is closed.

    Advantages
    1. The dry barrel hydrant uses drain holes to allow water to escape when the fire protection system is in shutdown mode, preventing the water from freezing during cold weather. The breakaway flange allows our product to break off at ground level if struck by traffic, protecting core parts that are installed underground.
    2. Our dry barrel fire hydrant is built in strict compliance with AWWA C5902 standards, and its pressure rating can reach up to 250 PSI, making it applicable for most regions around the world.
    3. If requested, our product can be customized in both appearance and outlet size.
    4. After installation, if one dry barrel fire hydrant fails to operate, the entire firefighting system is still capable of functioning normally.
    5. It is highly recommended to use this dry hydrant in conjunction with our fire protection valves, as they will perfectly match each other.
