Features of Headless Cannulated Compression Screw
1. A hollow central shaft allows more accurate placement of the compression screw.
2. Variable pitch threading and tapered design. Thread pitches decrease towards the screw tip. The screw head penetrates into the bony cortex faster than the tip. As the screw is tightened, it applies a compression force to the bone fracture.
3. Full thread design allows the screw to retain that compression level without being affected by periodic loads.
4. Headless screw design reduces the chance of collision or agitating the soft bone tissue.
