Pharmacological Activity
1. Anti-bacteria
Hypericin is a botanical extract that can inhibit staphylococcus aureus, salmonella, E. coli and other gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

2. Anti-virus
Extracted from the medicinal plant of hypericum, hypericin can directly act on the DNA of virus to effectively inhibit viral replication; it can also powerfully suppress common cold virus, herpes virus, hepatitis virus, etc. Besides, hypericin can be used for the prevention and adjuvant therapy of avian flu, infectious hepatitis, infectious laryngotracheitis and other viral infections; it can finally kill 100% of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus.

3. Anti-inflammation
Hypericin has good anti-inflammatory effect and can inhibit the release of arachidonic acid and leukotrienes B, which are the precursors of such vital compounds as prostaglandins and cytokinins (used for activating the lymphatic and T- cells).
