The releasing sucker rod overshot is a specially designed fishing tool that can catch broken sucker rods that have become stuck in the oil tube or casing. In cases where the fish is stuck or difficult to remove, the tool can be unscrewed safely form the fish. The overshot is available in an A type (with basket grapple) and B type (with spiral grapple).
