High Pressure Seal, Type C
When not in operation, type C high pressure seal leaves larger gaps between mating surfaces than type D. Another distinctive feature that sets type C apart from type D is the curved metal plate inserted between the trapezoidal metal reinforcement and the mating rim of the seal. Note that these metal blocks have sharp corners that may cut the seal rim instead of rounded corners found on type D, which explains why there should been metallic inserts on type C.
Designed primarily for use in reliable sealing of casing pipes, oil production tubing, natural gas pipelines and other steel pipes during a hydrostatic test, Type C high pressure seal is also employed to seal high pressure valves, pipe joints and welded pipes ends.

Casing pipes or oil production tubing used in oil and natural gas industry that comply with API 5CT/ISO11960:2011, GB/T9711.1-2011, GB/T9711.2-2011 standards
GB8163-2008 seamless steel pipes
GB/T3092-2008 welded pipes
Operating pressure ≤120 MPa
Operating temperature: -20°C~ 80°C
Operating media: water, emulsified liquid, hydraulic oil
