U-Cups
U-cups are called so because of their unique U-shaped profile. This lip seal, either in single slip or double lip design, is typically made of polyurethane due to some intrinsic qualities associated with that material, such as high strength, resilience, hardness, and abrasion resistance. U-cups are most often used as static seals during hydrostatic pressure testing of steel casing pipes, oil production tubing, and various welded steel pipes.
Built to API 5CT/ISO11960:201l standards, the U-cup seal is able to handle high pressures up to 80 MPa. This sealing device is non-toxic, meaning that it can be put in direct contact with water, emulsified fluid, and hydraulic oil.
