Tinplate
Tinplate is more commonly known as tin-plated steel sheet and is abbreviated as SPTE. It is produced using cold rolled low carbon steel sheet that is plated on either side with pure tin. Tin is used along with steel because it forms an anti-corrosive coating to prevent rust formation on the steel.

Characteristics and Applications of Tinplate
1. Canned food
Tinplate is ideal for food hygiene and will minimize the likelihood of food spoilage.
2. Beverage cans
Tin cans can be used for a variety of beverages. The plasticity of the material allow for variations in container design.
3. Oil tank
The tinplate opacity and tightness is the best choice for packaging oil products.
4. Chemicals tanks
The chemical resistance of the material allows it to be used for chemical storage.
5. Spray cans and other miscellaneous cans
Tin cans can be used for aerosols and other container types because of its temperature resistance and strength.
