Plate Bending Machine (for Automotive Industry)
When it comes to making car panels, many metal fabricators use stamping by default because that is what has always been used. But many times, a plate bending machine is a better solution as it produces auto panels much faster and at a much lower cost than stamping.
This plate bending machine is suitable for bending plates 16mm to 25mm thick, 8000mm to 1200mm wide, and with yield strength up to 345MPa.
Plate Rolling Process in ActionThe 3-roll plate roll produces some of most rigid ultra-wide curved car panels in the industry. Featuring a symmetrical roll design, the bending roll is hydraulically powered to move the top roll in the vertical plan. Two lower rolls rotate in opposite directions. With a tap of a button, the gear-driven bend rolls bend the steel plate to a curved shape.
There are multiple sets of support rollers between the lower rolls and the base, which are vertically adjustable to hold the lower rolls in their position. Above the top roll is a cross beam. Between this beam and the top roll are a row support rollers as well, which improve the rigidity of the top roll.
Automated controls (either NC or CNC controlled unit) are available to reduce cycle time and handle complex shapes that manual controls can't.
