Pottery cooling is a critical process in pottery firing. A precise control of the cooling is necessary to avoid a too-rapid cooling rate. Zhongyao cooling system is specially designed and built for this purpose.

The general layout of our cooling system is divided into several sections, including rapid cooling, mild cooling, direct cooling zone, and final cooling zones.

  • Rapid cooling system
  • Rapid cooling system
  • Mild cooling system
  • Final cooling system

Rapid Cooling Zone
Cooling air is brought in by a fan, carried through branch pipes and blown directly on the hot workpiece, bringing the temperature down to 600°C. A variable frequency drive is used for automatic temperature control, so a constant cooling temperature can be maintained. Valves installed along the branch pipe for convenient, flexible control of the air volume.

Mild Cooling Zone
This zone gently lowers the temperature of the material through the transition temperature. Like the rapid cooling zone, this section also uses a VFD to keep temperature in check.

Direct Cooling Zone
Room-temperature air is blown through branch pipes into the roller kiln chamber, which cools down the tile rapidly. After heat exchange, hot air exits the kiln and can used for various drying purposes.

Final Cooling Zone
A quiet-running axial flow fan pulls in large volumes of air at very low pressure for effective cooling. Hot air exits this zone easily.
