In case you didn’t know, the solar expansion tank tends to be larger than the hydronic expansion tank. This is because the temperature in a closed-loop solar water heating system is 50°F to 60°F higher, which translates into thermal expansion that is 4-10 times greater than the expansion in a comparable hydronic water heating system. This means the solar expansion tank needs to absorb more expanded water than a hydronic heating system does. This accounts for its larger size.

Built to DIN4757 standards, the Solar-DEZHI series expansion tank can meet the needs of most solar heating systems currently in operation across the globe. This expansion tank assembly consists of a water tank, an extra intermediate tank, and all necessary pipe fittings.

The uniquely designed membrane inside the expansion tank is made of synthetic rubber to tolerate a high temperature of 212°F in the solar heating system.

The intermediate water tank comes fitted with an inlet valve that is placed in the front of the tank. This expansion tank provides heat dissipation, which effectively reduces the working temperature and thus extends the life of the tank.
