Automatic Chamber Filter Press
Application
An automatic filter press has the same operation concept as a manual filter press or a frame filter, with the only exception being the entire process is fully automated. This filter press is comprised of a larger plate and frame filter press with mechanical “plate shifters.” The plate shifter moves plates to allow for a rapid discharge of filter cakes accumulated between the plates.
Presentation
The automatic pump control regulates the increase of the air pressure based on the back pressure against the pump. The pump controls use the same computer based PLC components that numerous other pieces of industrial equipment use, including an operator interface panel and control box. The automatic filter press has a number of optional accessories, including: an automatic plate shifting device for automatic and fast discharge of the filter cake, an automatically controlled drip tray system, a filter cake dissolving device with a dynamic hanging method for the filter cloths, a mechanical vibration device for the separation of filter plates, and finally, an automatic filter cloth washing device.
Caution
The automatic chamber filter press is not very well suited for low solid content suspensions with small particles. Using it as such will result in a poor filtering performance, with particles slipping through the filter cloth, preventing the filtrate from being clean and clear.
