Power Cord Assemblies
A power cord assembly, also known as a power supply cord, is a portable cable assembly used to deliver AC or DC power from a power source to electrical equipment, appliances, and electronic devices. It is commonly used when equipment does not have a fixed built-in power cord, such as industrial equipment, computer monitors, appliances, and other powered devices.
Depending on the application, one end of the cord may be fitted with a molded plug for connection to a wall outlet, while the other end can be supplied with bare wires, an IEC connector, crimped terminals, or a custom connector for direct connection to the equipment.

Plug type, cable length, wire gauge, connector type, voltage/current rating, and tail-end processing can be configured according to customer requirements. Available tail-end processing includes wire stripping, tinning, terminal crimping, and connector assembly, allowing the cord to be integrated into different electrical and electronic products.
Plug and cable options can be adjusted to meet major international safety standards and certification requirements, including UL for the United States, cUL/CSA for Canada, ENEC and VDE for Europe, BSI for the UK, SAA for Australia, PSE for Japan, KC/KTL for Korea, BSMI for Taiwan, and CCC for China.
- Plug type: Country- or region-specific plug designs, such as NEMA 5-15P for North America, Type G for the UK and Singapore, and Schuko plugs for European markets
- Connector type: IEC 60320 connector options, such as C13/C14 and C5/C7
- Wire gauge / AWG: Options such as 14 AWG; lower AWG numbers indicate larger conductors and higher current-carrying capacity
- Voltage / current rating: Common ratings include 10–13A / 250V or 15A / 125V
- Jacket material: PVC or rubber, with temperature and flame-retardant ratings such as 105°C or VW-1, depending on the cable type
