Propanil
Postemergence with no residual effect against numerous grass and broadleaf weeds in rice potatoes, and wheat. The rate of application of propanil ranges from 3 kg a.i./ha to 4 kg a.i./ha. The herbicide is applied 10 to 20 DAT, or 10 to 20 days after sowing pre-germinated seeds.To avoid crop damage, propanil should not be applied within two weeks after applying carbamates and organophosphate insecticides.

Used pre-emergence for the control of annual grasses and certain broad-leaved weeds in rice, both seeded and transplanted. It shows selectivity in barley, cotton, peanuts, sugar beet, wheat and several brassica crops. Effective rates range from 1.0-4.5 kg a.i./ha. Activity is dependent on water availability such as rainfall following treatment, overhead irrigation or applications to standing water as in rice culture.
Contact herbicide used post-emergence in rice, at 2.5-5.0 kg/ha, to control broad-leaved and grass weeds, including amaranthus retroflexus, digitaria spp., echinochloa spp., panicum spp., and setaria spp. Also used, in mixture with MCPA, in wheat. A mixture with carbaryl is used in citrus crops grown in sod culture.
