A major breakthrough in bridge technology came with the use of opening bridge. The opening bridge, by modern-day definition, is a movable or rotatable bridge. For heavy traffic over busy channels, a fixed bridge might no longer provide enough vertical space for ships to cross under it. At this point, an opening bridge can very well meet the need.

The opening bridge has to rise many times a day to allow passage for boats. For this reason, the bridge is usually made lightweight with steel structures. Usually hydraulically power, the bridge uses hydraulic cylinders to enable the lifting and lowering motion of bridge.

In our cylinder parts manufacturing process, there are stringent quality control systems to follow. When the process is done, all the parts come together to form a finished cylinder. Below are the specific steps taking place on the assembly line.

Bespoke and bought-in parts are taken out from the warehouse---Cleaning---Connect piston to piston rod---Add bottom cap to piston rod---Connect cylinder head to the cylinder body---Assemble the piston rod, piston, and hydraulic cylinder body---Connect the displacement measuring device (if there is any) to the cylinder head—Add the bottom cap to the cylinder---Tighten the screws and bolts---Test the hydraulic cylinder---Add bearing to the mounting attachments---Connect the mounting attachments to the piston rod---Add valve to the cylinder---Arrange the piping for the cylinder---Add bearing seat and trunnion seat---Shot peening and spray painting---Acceptance into warehouse
