The reverse circulation junk basket is intended to be used to retrieve small junk objects, such as cones, cutters, hand tools and other debris from the wellhole. During drilling operation, it produces a local reverse circulation of drilling fluid at the well core to push debris into the junk basket. When PDC is used, cleaning the bottom of the well is necessary to protect the rig's drill tools.
