The main advantage of these grooved fittings is that they can be installed in the field after cutting the pipe to length, which is significantly more convenient compared to traditional flanged connections, which must be welded.
The grooved fittings or grooved couplings have four elements
1. The groove pipe
2. The gasket
3. The coupling housing
4. The nuts and bolts
The flexible grooved couplings provide a more secure yet flexible connection that can be tightened with a socket or impact wrench.
The rigid grooved couplings do not allow movement and can be used wherever immobility is required.
