Rubber Hose Transportation and Storage
1. During transportation, rubber hoses should be orderly placed and hose reels should be stacked concentrically. Don't place other goods on the hose to avoid abrasion damages.
2. Keep away from acid, alkali, oils and organic solvents.
3. Put down gently when handling rubber hoses with spiral steel wire reinforcements so as to avoid damages to the reinforcement
4. Be sure the surface is flat and smooth when the rubber hoses are stored in open yards, platforms or wharfs. Rubber hoses should be placed in organized manner and covered by tarpaulin.
5. Avoid direct exposure to rain, snow and sunlight. Keep at least 1 meter away from heat sources.
6. Keep the storage temperature between -15 and 40℃ and the relative humidity between 50 and 80%.
7. Rubber hoses should be horizontally placed on a flat surface. The stacking height of hose reels shall not be higher than 1.5m, and that of unreeled hoses shall not be higher than 1m. The stack should be tipped upside down every quarter.
Rubber Hose Usage
The lifespan of a rubber hose is determined by not only its structural quality but also its usage and maintenance methods. Proper usage and maintenance can greatly extend the service life of rubber hoses. Otherwise, the lifespan may be greatly shortened and even cause serious accidents or property loss.
Users shall keep the following rules in mind during rubber hose usage:
1. Rubber hoses shall be chosen to use according to application-specific environments. Don't use them interchangeably.
2. No over-bending during use so as to avoid partial deformations
3. The bending diameter of suction hoses shall be at least 20 times of the inside diameter. Or else, transposition of the steel wire reinforcement may occur.
4. Use rubber hoses within the designed working pressure
5. Never place heavy goods or impose mechanical loads on rubber hoses, especially on steel wire reinforced rubber hoses
6. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat source
7. During and after usage, the rubber hose inner walls shall be cleaned thoroughly, especially for acid delivery hoses, sprayer hoses, and mortar hoses.
8. Chose proper hose fittings such as hose connectors so as to avoid hose damages caused by improper connection, especially for high pressure hoses.
9. The bend radius of high pressure hoses shall not be smaller than designed value. Over-bending of rubber hose may cause decreased pressure withstanding performance and reduced fatigue life.
10. For prolonged service life, periodical inspection and checking for high pressure hoses, chemical hoses and organic solvent delivery hoses shall be performed.
