This 2.5-layer forming fabric is featured by a double-layer structure of weft, with weft ratio of 2:1. Developed for the forming section in paper machinery for of printing and writing paper machines, our 2.5-layer forming fabric introduces high fiber support index (FSI) which results from an improved surface-yarn density. This allows better sheet-side smoothness as well as improved retention compared to a 2-layer design. This construction also allows good drainage.
When it comes to mass production, 5 sheds in cross machine direction in this particular design provide satisfying fabric durability, with even longer lifetime guaranteed options available (8-shed and 10-shed). Tailor-made 2.5-layer forming fabrics can be realized through changes on diameters and densities of wefts.
