Rapid deployment mobile tower system mounted on a trailer or vehicle chassis, equipped with a telescopic steel tower extendable up to 30 meters in height

Cell On Wheels (COW) systems, also called portable telescoping communication towers, are mobile towers mounted on trailers or vehicles chassis and used whenever communication coverage needs to be set up quickly on site. The telescopic steel mast can be extended to the required height, usually up to around 30 meters, with a simple control operation. This allows temporary communication coverage to be set up quickly and with minimal effort. These mobile tower systems are widely used for emergency response, short-term network expansion, outdoor events, disaster recovery, and communication needs in remote or areas that are hard to reach. COW units are not only used for mounting antennas, but also for temporary elevated work and signal support in areas where fixed towers are not practical.

Structural Design

A Cell On Wheels (COW) system is made up of several key components that work together to ensure safe operation, easy transport, and fast deployment in the field.

  • Truck-Mounted Chassis with Wheels
The wheeled truck frame supports the entire telescoping tower system and allows it to be transported easily from one site to another.
  • Telescoping Mast
The mast is designed for vehicle transport and can be raised to working heights of 25 or 30 meters once on site, depending on project needs.
  • Lifting Drive and Support System
The tower is raised and lowered using a hydraulic lifting system that can be operated either by remote control or directly from the vehicle. This makes it easier and safer for operators to handle the mast in different working situations.
  • Guy Wire System
Once the mast is fully extended, guy wires are attached to hold the tower firmly in place and keep it stable while it is in use.
  • Lightning Protection and Grounding System
If lightning occurs, the grounding system redirects the current into the ground so the mobile base station and the communication equipment remain safe.
  • Optional Power Solutions
Supports various power supply options, including mains power, diesel generators, solar power, and wind power.

Features

Portable telescoping communication towers are easy to move and can be installed on site in a very short time, which is suitable for temporary locations, changing project sites, and operations that need communication coverage without long installation work.

COW systems are commonly used as part of mobile communication base stations, providing stable signal support while also offering built-in lightning protection for safer operation in the field.

Equipped with a hydraulic lifting and support system designed for rapid installation and quick deployment, the system ensures stable lifting, precise positioning, and simple operation, enabling the communication tower to be raised and secured safely and efficiently.

Strong adaptability allows the COW system to be used for emergency communications, temporary network coverage, and concealed communication tasks where fixed towers are not suitable or available.

Project Application Examples
Manufacturing Process

Laser Cutting
Laser cutting is used to shape the steel components through focused beam cutting and assisted gas removal. The process offers fast cutting speed and high dimensional accuracy (up to ±0.05 mm), while keeping heat impact to a minimum. This reduces the risk of deformation and results in clean, well-defined edges.

CNC Punching and Shearing
Steel angles are processed through CNC-controlled punching and shearing lines. Automatic feeding, positioning, punching, and cutting are all integrated into the process, keeping production running smoothly and efficiently. Precise CNC positioning keeps quality consistent, even when working with more complex parts.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing and Surface Protection
The tower is protected with hot-dip galvanizing as the main anti-corrosion treatment, along with an extra plastic coating for added protection. The zinc layer protects the steel from rust and adds strength, while the coating gives extra insulation and surface protection. This combined treatment allows the tower to maintain reliable performance for over 20 years and adapt well to harsh environments such as high and low temperatures, coastal areas, and mountainous regions.
