Guardrail terminal ends are designed to prevent the guardrail from penetrating vehicles that collide with the end of the roadside barrier system. The terminal ends will deflect the rail away from the collision to minimize impact and stop the vehicle, hopefully without causing catastrophic damage.

Type – C
This type of guardrail terminal end is also called a fish tail end terminal. It’s used for w-beam and thrie-beam guardrails and deflect energy during an impact.
Type – D
The holes in this crash barrier end allows it to be conveniently bolted for installation on bridges, highways, and toll booths.
