The Feeder Terminal Unit (FTU) is specifically developed for the monitoring and protection of pole-mounted switches within 10kV distribution networks. It offers comprehensive fault detection, protection control, and communication capabilities (upon configuration with a communication module). The FTU is designed to be paired with switches installed at the utility-customer demarcation point on 10kV overhead distribution lines and suitable branch lines. When combined with a pole-mounted switch and voltage transformer, this integrated system can automatically clear single-phase ground faults and isolate interphase short-circuit faults on the controlled branch line.
