Custom-Built PSA Oxygen Generator

The PSA oxygen generation system uses clean compressed air as the feed gas and high-quality zeolite molecular sieve as the adsorbent. Under controlled pressure conditions, oxygen is separated from air through pressure swing adsorption technology. Purified and dried compressed air undergoes pressurized adsorption and depressurized desorption inside the adsorption towers. Due to aerodynamic characteristics, nitrogen diffuses through the micropores of the zeolite molecular sieve at a faster rate than oxygen. Nitrogen is preferentially adsorbed, while oxygen is enriched in the gas phase to form product oxygen. During depressurization to atmospheric pressure, the adsorbed nitrogen and impurities are released to regenerate the adsorbent. Two adsorption towers operate alternately. One tower produces oxygen, while the other performs desorption and regeneration. Pneumatic valves are switched by a PLC controller, enabling continuous production of high-purity oxygen.

Customized PSA Oxygen Generation System
Process Description
  • Feed Air Pretreatment
    Compressed air passes through a refrigerated dryer and multi-stage filters to remove moisture, oil mist, and impurities. This ensures the inlet air is clean, dry, and oil-free, protecting the molecular sieve from contamination.
  • Adsorption Separation
    The pretreated air enters the adsorption towers filled with zeolite molecular sieve (ZMS). Under regulated pressure, the ZMS preferentially adsorbs nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and other trace impurities, while oxygen passes through the adsorbent bed as the product gas.
  • Regeneration Cycle
    Two adsorption towers work in alternating cycles. While one tower is in the adsorption phase to produce oxygen, the other undergoes depressurization to desorb impurities and achieve regeneration. PLC-controlled valves manage the seamless switching between towers to ensure a continuous and stable oxygen flow.
  • Post-Treatment and Storage
    Produced oxygen passes through fine filtration and sterilization. Oxygen boosters or oxygen storage tanks can be configured according to application requirements to ensure stable supply.
