Flexible couplings for grooved piping systems are intended to accommodate controlled movement at the pipe joint. Pipe and fittings joined with a flexible coupling are allowed to expand, contract, or deflect from the center line within limits established by the coupling interface with the pipe. The type of pipe, wall thickness, pressure, hanging and laying requirements, as well as the type of groove selected all contribute to the amount of movement the pipe system can do. After the pipe ends are grooved, a rubber gasket that is deemed suitable for the system is stretched over the pipe ends. The coupling segments are then placed over the gasket, and the bolts and nuts are fastened, resulting in a restrained, and leak free joint. Couplings and fittings are cast from ductile iron, meeting ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 (tensile-yield-elongation) standards. These light duty flexible grooved couplings are suitable for fire protection services, water supply systems, and other process systems requiring a higher work pressure.

Features
Designed for service up to 300psi depending on the size, the coupling forms a flexible grooved end pipe joint connection and reduces noise and vibration transmissions in the pipeline.

1. Flexible couplings in straight runs should be supported as close to the coupling as possible, or within a distance of 1/6 the span, and evenly spaced.
2. Flexible couplings provide either axial or longitudinal movement. The available movement for roll-grooved joints is 1/2 that of cut groove dimensions per ANSI/AWWA C606-06.
3. When pre-setting power nut drivers, the following torque should not be exceeded. Excessive tightening of the nuts can result in joint failure.
4. Coating options: epoxy, paint, dacromet, hot-dip galvanized
