Amorphous cores are becoming a popular choice by transformer manufacturers because that using the amorphous metal core allows to build smaller transformers and generate lower noise when compared to silicon steel core transformer. Furthermore, amorphous core transformers have been found to be more energy efficient than silicon steel core transformer, primarily due to its better core loss reduction.

The amorphous core cutting line is a crucial component in producing amorphous cores and serves as specialized equipment for transformer core production. Our amorphous core cutting line automates the cutting and stacking of transformer core ribbons, specifically for manufacturing C-type amorphous cores and toroidal amorphous cores. The amorphous core cutting line is mainly composed of material feeding system, cutting machine, automatic stacking and arranging system, main control panel and electrical control system.

Decoiler (Material Feeding System)

Material feeding is the initial step in the amorphous core cutting line, which is equipped with three decoilers, each capable of holding up to 5 layers of amorphous ribbons with approximately length of 1 ton. The three decoilers provide a synchronized supply of 15 layers of amorphous ribbons for cutting. Since amorphous ribbons are relatively thin, about 0.025mm per layer, using three decoilers to transport 15 layers of amorphous ribbons at once significantly improves the efficiency of cutting and stacking.

Cut-To-Length Shear (Cutting Machine)

The cutting machine of our amorphous core cutting line uses a low inertia servo motor for feeding, and two double-acting air cylinders are employed to execute the pressing and lifting motions of the upper feeding rollers. The air cylinder pressure is adjustable within a range of 0 to 0.7 MPa. The cutting machine head and body are designed as a detachable modular structure, making equipment maintenance convenient. The shearing section utilizes imported linear guides, a high-power servo motor with a crank-rod mechanism, and high-precision cutting tools to achieve high-precision cutting requirements.

Main Control Panel and Electrical Control System

All the functions of amorphous core cutting line can be realized via the main control panel, which uses a PLC intelligent control system to achieve automatic material feeding, cutting, and stacking. When the main control panel is in operation, the display screen allows real-time monitoring of the system's status, thus ensuring the smooth operation of cut-to-length line. Multiple emergency stop buttons are placed along the operation and inspection path of the main control panel to ensure safety. The pneumatic actions in various parts of the machine are all controlled by the program and are adjustable.

Automatic Ribbon Stacking & Arranging System

The linear motion of our stacking table is achieved through a servo motor via a variable-speed mechanism, rack and pinion. Upon receiving a batch of materials, the stacking table can be positioned according to preset program requirements to meet different lamination requirements for amorphous cores. The stacking thickness is controlled by a pressure cylinder mechanism with limits; based on limit signals, it can automatically descend until the stacking thickness meets the core requirements. Depending on the different cutting lengths, we can provide two types of ribbon arranging mechanism: suspended type and horizontally placed type.
