Sheet glass, also known as Glaverbel glass, was invented in 1961 by the Belgian company Glaverbel. Unlike the dominant float glass process used in today’s glass industry, the sheet glass process combines the slotless and flat-pulling methods to pull flat glass from a free liquid surface. This allows for the smooth production of glass with a thickness of 0.8 to 12 millimeters, while its unique feature is its ability to stably produce thin glass below 3 millimeters in thickness with good flatness and small thickness difference.

Sheet glass possesses similar physical stability, light transmittance, and toughness as float glass. This ultra-thin glass is mostly used in the instrument, electronics, and handicraft manufacturing industries, as well as for producing anti-glare glass, which finds widespread application in display cabinets, photo frames, picture frames, and other industries.

CHINASTAR GLASS understand our customers’ requirements and can utilize sheet glass as a substrate to produce affordable aluminum mirrors, thanks to their excellent quality. We also provide cutting, edging, cleaning, and other processing services to meet our customers’ needs for picture frame and photo frame glass.
