The exhaust flexible pipe, also known as flexible metal bellow, is installed in the exhaust pipe between the exhaust manifold and the muffler. The exhaust flexi pipe allows an adjustable union to be formed between otherwise inflexible pipes. The significance is to:

The pipe body is formed by double-ply corrugated metal bellow cased in an outer braid. Each end of the exhaust flexi pipe is clamped with a metal ring.
