Flange nuts are also called serrated flange nut or non-spinning washer head hex nut. They can be coated in nylon on the internal surface, just like a nylon insert flange nut, which has to be fastened using special spanners, and are used to connect screw rods. With metal washers, the flange nut becomes tighter than a hex nut, allowing it to be used for sealing and preventing oil, water, gas, paraffin and other fluid leaks.
