Solid thimble is a heavy duty wire rope thimble designed with rope groove. It is used to form a reinforced eye in steel wire ropes or synthetic ropes. The size of the solid eye thimble must be chosen carefully so that the wire rope eye can be precisely covered in the groove. The wire rope fittings are commonly used for crane ropes.
