The GLD cloth media disc filter is ideal for dealing with cooling systems and wastewater recycling.

  • Cooling water and circulating water for reuse after filtration: inlet water quality SS ≤ 80 mg/L, outlet water quality SS ≤ 20 mg/L.
  • For advanced sewage treatment: set after conventional methods like activated sludge, extended aeration, SBR, oxidation ditch, trickling filter or oxidation pond. Its applications include ①eliminating total suspended solids; ②removing phosphorus through the addition of chemicals; and ③removing heavy metals and other elements.
  • For effluent from activated sludge final sedimentation. It has been designed to ensure water quality up to 30 mg/Ln tanks: inlet water SS: 30 mg/L (maximum bearing 80-100 mg/L), outlet water SS ≤ 5mg/L, turbidity ≤ 2 NTU. The filter is highly effective, with the majority of effluent having a turbidity of 1 NTU.

Filter composition
  • Micro-filter:

    square tank, steel concrete structure or carbon steel box, or stainless steel box can be used according to users’ needs.
  • Filter disc:

    stainless steel filter cloth and plastic framework.
  • High pressure flushing device:

    cleaning pump, reducer and chain wheel transmission mechanism driving the filter disc to rotate.
  • Blowdown device:

    the blowdown tank is installed in the water inlet central cylinder.

Working principle

The filter cloth rotary disc filter operates simultaneously on two independent processes—raw water filtration and backwash sludge discharge. Raw water enters the filter disc's inner container via water distribution holes, pass through filter cloth that trap the suspended matter, then the filtered water is discharged through an overflow catchment. As the sludge builds up on the filter cloth’s inner side, an increased filtration resistance and water level follow. When the water level reaches the cleaning level, backwash begins; a high-pressure jet system washes the filter cloth for dirt removal and then discharged through a blowdown pipe. One can adjust the backwash’s frequency and duration, allowing the filter to continuously filter during backwashing.

Features
  • Non-stop filtration with 24-hour continuous operation. The backwashing process won’t interrupt production as filtration can be accomplished at the same time.
  • The aperture of the filter cloth is a fantastic 20 μm, successfully keeping out particles with a size of less than 20 μm. This leads to a well-controlled, stable flow of effluent of superior quality.
  • Backwashing requires incredibly low water consumption—between 1-2% of the total water inflow—substantially less than other products.
  • Small waterhead losses typically range from 0.05 to 0.25 m.
  • Minimal operation cost: less than 0.01 yuan per ton of water (not counting the cost incurred when adding reagents to reduce phosphorus levels).
  • Fully automated operation including filtration and backwashing. It has multiple safety features, so no special manpower is needed for everyday use or upkeep.
  • The micro-filter of the filter cloth turntable has a vertical filter disc design that allows for an incredibly small floor area, yet provides a large filter area.
  • The disc microfilter is convenient and easy to construct and expand. This is due to its integrally modularized design, allowing for a speedy construction period.
Control methods
  • 1. The system has two modes: automatic and manual control

    Automatic mode: The controller sets the filtration and backwashing program, enabling the filter to run on a preselected time and liquid level difference. By simply setting the schedule, the filter works automatically without further intervention from the user.
    Manual mode: used only during the commissioning and maintenance stages.
  • 2. The controller features a forced option, allowing the filter to undergo an extra automatic cleaning cycle while active or inactive.

  • 3. Low-level protection

    When the water level in the filter is low, the automatic cleaning program won't start and a forced cleaning program must be initiated instead.
  • 4. Liquid level control

    When the water level of the filter tank has reached the pre-determined highest point, the cleaning process will initiate automatically. After finishing the cycle, the filter mechanism is restored.
  • 5. Fault alarm

    This system can identify malfunctions in automatic valves, alert users to overloads on pumps and reducers, and provide warnings when filter discs become blocked.
