The optical time domain reflectometer, often abbreviated as OTDR, is a fiber optic tester used to characterize an optical fiber, and it is developed on the basis of Rayleigh scattering and Fresnel reflection. During test, it measures the fraction of light that is reflected back due to Rayleigh scattering and Fresnel reflection, and then determines fiber length, overall attenuation, splice loss, connector loss, fault point, break point and other parameters by analyzing the characteristic trace. In this regard, our OTDR is an indispensable optical fiber testing tool for the construction, maintenance and monitoring of fiber networks.

In particular, the GW4000 optical time domain reflectometer is a handheld OTDR that is compatible with both laser source and red light source, and it could locate break points in a very short time. But its price is only half of that of JDSU products.

Aside from these products, we could also provide various preparation tools, such as optical fiber cleaver and fiber cleaving tool kit, to help users make better preparation for fusion splicing.
