Substations are places used to change voltage, control and distribute power. They are often divided into prefabricated, compact indoor types, and outdoor power distribution equipment. Both are composed of high-voltage switchgears, transformers and low-voltage power distribution devices combined and connected according to specific wiring requirements. They are widely used in both urban and rural power distribution networks.

  • Pad-mounted transformers, also known as American substations, are an integrated power station that combines high-voltage control, protection, transformers and power distribution equipment according to specific wiring requirements. Transformer bodies, high load breaking switches and fuses are all set in fully sealed transformer oil tanks, and the transformer oil features an outstanding insulation performance and heat dissipation performance.
  • Prefabricated substations, also called European substations, are compact integrated power distribution devices composed of high-voltage electrical equipment, transformers and low-voltage electrical equipment that are all independently set with each other and connected using cables.
