Encoders, also known as rotary encoders or shaft encoders, are used to convert the angular position or motion of a shaft into an analog or digital output signal. They are often used in industrial control, robotics, computer mice, photographic lenses, and more.

Their number of detents are 16/20/32, and the pulse number ranges between 20 pulses/360°- 24 pulses/360°, and all have a long service life of more than 30,000 cycles.
