Howcool designs these cold storage warehouses for grapes and other fresh fruit storage
  • The freezing point of grapes is around -3℃, which means the storage temperature needs to be in a range of -1~0℃. If the environmental temperature is less than the freezing point of grape, the fruit will become damaged due to freezing.
  • The best humidity for grapes is an environment with about 90-95% humidity. When humidity is outside of this range, the grape will rot and the stem will dehydrate. Therefore, keeping a suitable environment for the grapes is an important component for grape storage.
  • Decreasing the oxygen content or increasing the carbon dioxide content in the environment is helpful to long term storage of grape. Generally speaking, the suitable oxygen content is 2~4%, and the suitable carbon dioxide content is 3~5%.
  • Late maturing grapes can be stored for about 2-7 months in a cold storage facility.
  • If the client wants to prevent rotting, a fungus free environment must be guaranteed, as fungi types common to grapes have a low temperature resistance.

In order to monitor the produce condition, Howcool has installed an inspection window on the cold storage warehouse. This window has passed air tightness tests, with a pressure tightness of 300MPa and a half-depressurization period of 20-30 minutes.
