XQ89/3YC Hydraulic Power Tongs
The XQ89/3YC hydraulic power tongs are specialized machinery commonly used to tighten up or remove the threaded oil tubing during well servicing operation. Upgraded from XQ89/3YB series, the 3YC version utilizes a hand-operated directional control valve to regulate the motion of hydraulic motor to deliver high torques at a relatively low speed. Compact structure enables the 3YC model to be lightest hydraulic tongs among all used in well servicing applications.
Braking mechanism for power tongs are placed on top of the cover plate, thereby facilitating brake adjustment and repair. The transmission system offers two entirely different gear ratios. The higher gear ratio produces faster speed while the lower ratio generates more torque.
The pressure at which hydraulic oil is supplied can be adjusted, in order to produce the most suitable torque to rotate the oil tubing with diverse steel grades.
The two tubing tongs are equipped with advanced clamping mechanisms to provide a more aggressive and better grip on oil tubing where the joint outside diameter is either 2-7/8" or 3-1/2". Clamping different-sized pipes does not require the change of any parts on the power tongs. The clamping mechanism generally has a long service life.
Hand-operated directional control valves are used on the master tongs. The valves allow the master tongs to synchronize with backup tongs in pipe make-up or break-out motion. Thanks to the valves, the mater tongs and backups can coordinate with each other to achieve high flexibility in movement.
