Prospect of Making Paper Using Straw

With a strongly developed agricultural system, China produces nearly 700 million tons of wheat and corn straw per year. Apart from carbon, straw contains trace elements of potassium, silicon, nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus as well as organic matter such as cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, protein and amino acids. Because of these elements, straw can be a promising natural resource if we develop the right technologies to make full use of it.

Our company uses the cellulose in straw to make pulp paper and the lignin to make organic fertilizer. In this way, we turn straw stalks into useful resources rather than simply burning them, which would emit more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
