A radar needs three pieces of information to determine the location of an object: the azimuth angle, elevation angle and the distance from radar to target. The accuracy of the first two measurements is directly related to the performance of radar antennae.

The slip ring is an important component of the radar antenna, as it transfers current and radio frequency signal across a rotating joint. The electric rotary joint and the RF slip ring are two commonly used types of rotary electrical connectors for use on radar antennae.

Radar needs to transfer RF signals from tens to hundreds of megahertz. JINPAT high-frequency slip ring is designed specifically to meet that need, delivering a maxium radio frequency up to 50GHz. Call one of our engineers today to get a customized slip ring.
