Cocoon Sourcing
From ancient times, silk weaving has long been prosperous in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The climate there is mild and humid, which is ideal for the growth of silkworm and mulberry. The cocoons produced there are full and thick, with a high silk yarn yield.
Our company is based in the silk-abundant Haian county of Jiangsu province. The county is known as the “cradle of China silk”. The more than 110,000 silk farmers there create an income of more than ¥400,000,000 every year. The cocoon yield has been the largest in Jiangsu for 27 years, and the largest in China for 6 years.
Benefited from the government support, we worked with the local agriculture committee, farmers’ schools and sericulture stations to give 4-day training to silk farmers. The agriculture committee carefully and reasonably arranged the lessons. The sericulture experts gave lectures on mulberry pest control, proper drug use on silkworms, and effort-saving silkworm raising. The content was well-received by the farmers. They learned many practical sericultural techniques from our courses.
