The low pressure feedwater heater extracts exhausted steam from a steam turbine and use it to heat water that is being fed into the boiler. Preheating water by using exhaust increases the water temperature, reduces the amount of steam that goes into the condenser, and improves thermal efficiency within the steam cycle.

JPVF series LP feedwater heater is in essential a shell and tube heat exchanger that uses a bundle of brass or stainless steel tubes that are either straight or bent in the shape of a U. U-tube feed water heaters come in three types of tube arrangement: inverted, vertical and horizontal. Accessories like relief valves, pressure gauge and thermometer ensure safe, highly efficient operation.

Models: vertical U-tube unit, horizontal U-tube unit
Tubes: High quality stainless steel, copper or carbon steel U-tubes
Water box (also called shell head, header, bonnet, end channel): tube-side channel channel cover
Connection between water box and shell: flanges bolts, or welding
Shell: 1-segment shell (condensation section), 2-segment shell (overheated steam cooling section, condensation section), 3-segment shell (overheated steam cooling section, condensation section, hot condensate cooling section)
