Frequently Asked Questions
Hot melt coaters are widely used across industries.
- Packaging industries: sealing cartons, assembling gift boxes, and producing food-grade packaging.
- Medical field: diaper manufacturing, sanitary pads, medical tapes, bandages, and wound dressings.
- Other industries: automotive interiors, furniture and home appliances, textiles and apparel, waterproof construction materials, label and tape production, filtration media, and even medical protective clothing.
Our machines are compatible with a wide range of mainstream hot melt adhesives, including EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate), PO (Polyolefin), PUR (moisture-reactive Polyurethane), and TPU. It's important to adjust the machine’s settings based on the adhesive’s specific melting point and viscosity for optimal performance.
Standard models operate at line speeds of 5 to 150 meters per minute, while high-speed models can exceed 500 meters per minute. However, actual running speed may vary depending on the viscosity of the adhesive, the desired coating thickness, and the characteristics of the substrate material.
Most models offer a standard temperature control range from room temperature up to 200°C. For high-temperature applications, such as with PUR adhesives, there are models available that reach up to 230°C. Temperature accuracy tolerance is typically within ±1–2°C to ensure consistent glue flow and coating quality.
Some models support multi-purpose use through quick-change coating heads, and you can switch heads during production as long as you're using adhesives with similar melting points and viscosities. Working with different substrates—like switching from film to nonwoven fabric—may require adjusting or upgrading the tension control system accordingly.
