EPV Load Lowering Control Valve, Pipe Mounted
The pipe-mounted load lowering control valve is designed to provide precise and safe load control for hydraulic actuators. In the upward flow direction (A - A1), oil passes freely through a built-in check valve to the hydraulic cylinder. In reverse flow (A1 - A), the valve’s load-holding section blocks or throttles fluid movement, with the spool delivering precise flow regulation during opening. The valve remains normally closed and is remotely controlled by pilot pressure, ensuring stable load holding independent of load weight.
An integrated relief valve monitors the A1 port pressure and opens automatically during overload or impact conditions to protect the hydraulic system. When sufficient pilot pressure is applied, the valve spool fully opens, allowing controlled release of cylinder pressure back through port A and the main control valve. This configuration provides superior motion control, overload protection, and makes operating heavy equipment safer and more reliable.

This load Lowering control valve, often called an anti-burst valve, is built for use on excavator booms, arms, buckets, and attachments. It helps keep heavy loads steady and prevents sudden, uncontrolled movements during operation. It enhances equipment safety and operational stability in demanding construction and excavation environments:
- Prevents the boom from unexpectedly dropping due to hydraulic line rupture or spool leakage
- Protects the arm from sudden retraction or extension caused by external forces or hydraulic leakage
- Prevents the bucket from accidental tilting due to sudden load changes or hose failure
- Shields hydraulic breakers and other attachments from shock-induced hose loosening or bursting, avoiding sudden piston rod extension or retraction
