Features
- Minimal Flow Resistance: When the medium flows through the gate valve, it does not change its flow direction, resulting in low fluid resistance.
- Low Opening and Closing Torque: Opening and closing a gate valve is relatively effortless because the motion of the gate is perpendicular to the flow direction of the medium. Compared to globe valves, gate valves require less effort to operate.
- Unrestricted Flow Direction: The flow direction of the medium is not restricted, and gate valves do not disrupt the flow or reduce pressure. This makes them suitable for pipeline conveyance systems where the flow direction of the medium may change.
- Shorter Structural Length: Gate valves have shorter structural lengths compared to globe valves because the gate disc is positioned vertically inside the valve body, while other valve discs are horizontally placed inside the valve body.
- Excellent Sealing Performance: When fully open, the sealing surfaces experience minimal erosion from the working medium.
- Reduced Erosion on Sealing Surfaces: When fully open, the sealing surfaces experience less erosion from the working medium compared to globe valves.
